International Students

International students are those that are coming to Desert Christian Schools on an F-1 Visa.

Admission procedures for DCS vary for each program and are explained below.

Desert Christian Schools partners with Three W International® to provide comprehensive international student enrollment management to students from China. Together, we are able to provide unparalleled support and service to our international students, from general admissions to post-arrival and beyond. If you are an international student interested in applying to Desert Christian Schools, please use the following contact information below:

Desert Christian Elementary School is open to international students in kindergarten who are residing with a parent and to students in grades one through five who are living with either a parent or a verifiable blood relative. Parents/guardians of prospective students must submit the application materials outlined in the application instructions for the elementary program. Attendance at an orientation meeting is required for all parents or guardians of new students. The purpose of this meeting is to provide an explanation of the philosophy, objectives, and guidelines of DCES.

Following attendance at the orientation meeting, a parent/student interview with an administrator must be scheduled. The purpose of this interview is to review the student’s background (school history, scholastic and behavioral records) and to assess the student’s prospect for success at DCES. Students entering kindergarten must be evaluated for school readiness prior to placement in a class. The administration works with the family to analyze and determine acceptable grade placement. After completion of all requirements, a decision is made on the student’s acceptance to the program.

Desert Christian Middle School is open to international students in sixth grade who are residing with their parents or a verifiable blood relative. Seventh and eighth grade students may be living with a guardian or host family not related to them. To apply for admission to DCMS, parents must submit the application materials outlined in the application instructions. Eighth grade students from out of country will be interviewed by phone. After completion of all requirements, the admissions committee makes a decision on student acceptance. An orientation meeting is required for all incoming in-country students and parents, including those coming from Desert Christian Elementary School.

In addition to meeting all the requirements outlined in the application instructions, the admissions committee considers students for enrollment who:

  • Have accepted Jesus Christ as personal Savior.
  • Are members or actively involved in a Bible-believing Christian church whose doctrinal position supports the DCHS statement of faith.
  • Have a satisfactory citizenship record in the school they are presently attending.
  • Are achieving an average of a "C" grade in the present school year.
  • Desire to attend Desert Christian High School and are willing to comply with the school's standards as printed in the handbook.
  • Have demonstrated English proficiency that will enable them to be successful in standard classes; evidence of a TOEFL iBT score of 60-80 is recommended for timely processing of the application.

Students entering DCMS from Desert Christian Elementary School are not automatically accepted. Selection for all middle school students is based on their effort to do their best in academics and citizenship.
