Joshua Christian Independent Study Program is a ministry of Desert Christian Home Education Program that provides academic supervision by on-campus teachers who meet (or correspond in writing) with students regularly for instruction or testing.

Course offerings for 2005/2006
Bible (9th – 10th – 11th – 12th)
English (9th – 10th – 11th – 12th)

Mathematics:
Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Consumer Math

Foreign Language:
French I, French II

Sciences (with Lab):
Biology, Physics, Physiology

Social Studies:
Government & Economics, U.S. History, World History

Electives:
Photography, Current Events, Understanding the Times

Students may enroll concurrently in on-campus courses at Desert Christian High School (as available—maximum of three courses including CIF sports).

Parent responsibilities include:

Regular attendance at a Bible-teaching church
Meet all financial obligations (enrollment, textbooks, and tuition)
Membership with Home School Legal Defense Association
Filing of required forms (for example: immunization records, birth certificate)
Have their students tested annually by DCS using the Stanford Achievement Tests (SAT10)
Supervising their student’s academic work between meetings with the on-campus instructor

DCS responsibilities include:

Provide curriculum
Provide administrator and on-campus teacher
Provides forms
Newsletter for JCIS families
Administrate the SAT10 annually

JCISP Students must:

Regularly attend a Bible-teaching church
Follow the academic plan as set forth by the on-campus teacher
Follow the behavior guidelines as set forth by DCS
